The plain of the Váh from the east, viewed from Nededza. In Teplička nad Váhom we can make out the three towers of the Sina mansion at the base of the hill to the right and to the left of the mansion the far-off Žilina. - In the 1850s, the rural community of Nededza / Vágnedec had 500 Slovak inhabitants. The Nedecky and Pongrácz families were counted among the wealthier proprietors in the village. The eccentric Count István Pongrácz (1835-1886), the chief character of Kálmán Mikszáth's novel, "The Siege of Beszterce," was one of the last lords of the roomy Nededza castle. - Bibliography: Fényes Elek, Mednyánszky 1844, Mednyánszky 1981, Mikszáth, Pongrácz
